Our client is seeking a Protection Engineer or Protection Test Engineer to work offshore in the US. This would be a 21/21 rotation schedule. This contract is set to last through the end of this year.
Job description Responsibilities:Supervising the testing & commissioning of SIE AC Control and Protection system on OCSSupervising the testing & commissioning of SIE HVDC Control and Protection system on OCSSupervising the testing & commissioning of OCS ICMS systemSupervising the testing of signal integration between ONCS, OCS and GCCWitnessing SATs with Siemens / Aker for control and protection systemParticipating in daily/weekly progress meeting with OCS commissioning teamSite coordination between supplier and back-office `design teamWitnessing HVDC system tests at the OCSDrive finalisation of snag list close out with supplier in OCSSupporting commissioning team with other scope such as low voltage systems, CWC, FDS interfaces, etc Degree in electrical engineering Well-founded knowledge about protection systems, high voltage equipment, LV, and utility interfaces and suppliersSiemens HVDC knowledge and experienceKnowledge of protection system functions and network architecture Experience with protection system setting calculation, coordination, and engineering tools Experience using the IEC 61850 communication protocolMinimum 1 year of offshore experience OR a minimum of 3 years of onshore substation experienceGWO
