We are currently recruiting an experienced Cook 2 to mobilise to our client’s semi-submersible crane vessel.The vessel will be operating within 12 nautical miles of the UK coastline. Due to the vessel’s operating location and applicable right-to-work requirements, suitable candidates must either be a UK national or hold a valid Frontier Worker Permit.
Job description Required Certification:STCW Cook CertificateValid STCW certificationBOSIET/FOET with CA-EBSOGUK MedicalValid Seafarer MedicalKey AccountabilitiesWorking closely with the Chief Cook, the Cook 2 will be responsible for supporting the safe, hygienic and efficient operation of the galley. Duties will include:Consulting with the Chief Cook to plan and prepare meals efficiently and to the required standard, in accordance with HACCP requirements.Maintaining safe working, food hygiene and cleaning practices throughout the galley and food-storage areas.Inspecting food supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure appropriate standards are maintained.Reporting any unsanitary conditions to the Chief Cook.Reporting defective or malfunctioning equipment.Preparing, arranging, garnishing, portioning and serving food.Stopping any unsafe or unhygienic activity within the galley or food-storage areas.Rejecting food or materials that do not meet the required hygiene and food-safety standards.Assisting with the management and supervision of galley and mess-room personnel.Exercising Stop Work Authority where unsafe activities are identified.Ensuring compliance with the client’s Permit to Work (PTW) system and all applicable vessel safety procedures.
