Job description Atlas NextWave are currently recruiting an experienced 2nd Officer (OOW Unlimited) to join our client’s Seismic Vessel operating in the UK.This is a 6-week assignment commencing 12th August.Please note: As the vessel will be operating within 12 nautical miles (NM) of the UK, successful candidates must either be a UK national or hold a valid Frontier Worker Permit.The RoleAs 2nd Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out navigational watchkeeping duties and supporting the Master and Chief Officer in the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. You will assist with passage planning, navigation, safety management, cargo and deck operations, and ensure compliance with company procedures and international maritime regulations. The role also includes maintaining navigational publications and equipment, participating in emergency response duties, and promoting a strong safety culture onboard.Essential RequirementsCandidates must hold:Officer of the Watch (OOW) Unlimited Certificate of CompetencyValid STCW Basic Safety TrainingSTCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB)Advanced Fire FightingValid Seafarer’s MedicalValid HUETMedical CareMedical First AidSTCW Designated Security DutiesGMDSS General Operator’s Certificate (GOC)ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System)The Ideal CandidatePrevious experience as a 2nd Officer onboard offshore or seismic vessels is preferred.Strong navigational knowledge and watchkeeping experience.Excellent communication and organisational skills.A proactive approach to safety and operational excellence.Available to mobilise on 12th August.If you meet the above requirements and are available for this opportunity, we’d love to hear from you.Apply today by sending your CV and certification.
