Job description Atlas NextWave are currently looking for an experienced Mechanic 1 to join our client’s Heavy Lift Crane Vessel in Norway.This is an ASAP mobilisation with the assignment running until 9th September.The RoleAs Mechanic 1, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and corrective maintenance across the vessel’s engine room, machinery spaces, heavy lift construction equipment and crane machinery. You will also assist with the maintenance and repair of accommodation equipment, refrigeration, air conditioning, elevators, and galley/laundry equipment.Working closely with the engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the vessel while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out repair, maintenance and operational tasks safely and efficiently.Perform maintenance on engine room machinery, heavy lift equipment and crane machinery.Monitor vessel and crane machinery, reporting any defects or irregularities.Assist with hydraulic repair and maintenance on heavy lift installations.Prepare and work under the Permit to Work system.Carry out planned preventative maintenance and record all work completed.Fabricate parts and special tools using workshop equipment where required.Supervise Oilers and Integrated Ratings in line with Engineers’ instructions.Participate in deck and crane operations when required.Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the engine room, workshop and machinery spaces.Prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and conduct Toolbox Talks.Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with ISM, SOLAS, QHSE procedures and company standards.Essential CertificatesApplicants must hold the following:Valid PassportBOSIET with CA-EBSSTCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1)STCW Security Awareness (A-VI/6-1)STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft & Rescue Boats (PSCRB) (A-VI/2-1)Valid Seafarer’s MedicalValid OGUK MedicalWhat We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for candidates with previous offshore mechanical experience, ideally gained onboard heavy lift, construction or crane vessels.
